On Monday 27 July 2026 at 1:30pm the Australian Government will test its new emergency warning system, AusAlert. A test alert will be sent to all mobile devices in Australia. This includes most phones, and some smart watches and tablets. Devices do not need a SIM card or data.
This helps you get information quickly.
During the AusAlert national test:
- a message will appear on your screen
- you will hear a loud siren sound for about 10 seconds
- you do not need to do anything
