Reedah Zaffar
Community Constable Reedah Zaffar joined the South Australian Police on the 6th of June 2019. At the age of 19, she arrived in Australia in 2006 from the Middle East. She completed her Year 12 studies and a Bachelor of International Development at the University of Adelaide.


SA Refugee Week – Celebrating another incredible contribution!

As part of the SA Refugee Week celebrations, it was great to meet Rosemary Kariuki the author of "A Joyful Life". This Book Launch was organised in collaboration between AMRC, University of South Australia, African Communities Council of South Australia, Dr Lillian Mwanri and Dymocks Books!

Dr Lian Gualnam and Mrs Dim Sian Cing Gualnam
Resettled from Myanmar in 2013, Dr Gualnam volunteered with the new arrivals program at AMRC while attending tertiary studies and still an active member of the community acting as a Teddim and Zomi interpreter. Him and his family have done it again, enriching the culture in the northern suburbs of Adelaide.

AMRC is extremely lucky to have so many wonderful people from diverse backgrounds who volunteer their time and skills to support others in need. “I love to volunteer, it’s what I live for. I’d like to give something back to this beautiful country which is my new home,” Dil Karki says.

Celebrating Success
Ritisha Dahal
AMRC is proud to recognise the incredible achievement of Ritisha Dahal, a Salisbury High School student who completed her SACE with a perfect ATAR of 99.95% and earned the prestigious Governor's Commendation! Ritisha, who arrived in Australia in 2013, is an inspiring example of what new arrivals can bring to Australia. She’s also a dedicated volunteer at the Nepali Ethnic School and teaches traditional dance to young children.
