Settlement Services
At AMRC, we are committed to providing comprehensive settlement support to migrants, refugees, and humanitarian entrants, helping them establish secure and fulfilling lives in South Australia. Our services focus on orientation, capacity building, employment pathways, community connections, and advocacy, ensuring that new arrivals have the resources and support they need to thrive.
Our Programs
Humanitarian Settlement Program (HSP)
We provide intensive, early settlement support for refugee and humanitarian entrants, assisting with housing, education, employment, health, and social connections. Our tailored approach ensures individuals and families gain essential skills and access key services for a successful transition into Australian society.
Settlement Engagement and Transition Support (SETS)
SETS focuses on supporting migrants and refugees beyond their initial settlement period, helping them overcome barriers to education, employment, and community participation. Through casework, referrals, workshops, and mentoring, we empower individuals and families to become independent and actively engaged in their communities. SETS includes services to individual and communities through Case Management, Community Capacity Building and Domestic and Family Violence services.
Specialised Intensive Services (SIS)
SIS provides targeted support for migrants and refugees facing complex challenges, including family violence, disability, mental health issues, and social isolation. Our team works closely with individuals to develop personalized support plans, linking them with essential services and ensuring they receive the assistance they need to achieve stability and well-being.
Skilled Migrant Services
AMRC is dedicated to supporting skilled migrants in successfully integrating into the workforce and community. We provide tailored employment support, training, and educational opportunities to help skilled migrants navigate the job market, gain industry-specific knowledge, and connect with potential employers. Through one-on-one guidance, networking events, and information sessions, we assist individuals in aligning their skills with industry needs, ensuring they contribute meaningfully to South Australia’s Strategic Objectives and Economic Growth. Our programs also focus on professional development, accreditation pathways, and mentoring, empowering skilled migrants to reach their full potential.
Core Funded Targeted Services
AMRC delivers targeted settlement services designed to enhance community engagement, build capacity, and foster social inclusion. We support individuals and communities through a variety of programs, events, and initiatives that celebrate cultural diversity and promote intercultural understanding. This includes key community engagement initiatives such as Harmony Week and Refugee Week, where we highlight the contributions of migrants and refugees to Australian society. Our targeted services also provide specialized support to vulnerable groups, ensuring that all new arrivals have equal access to opportunities and resources to succeed in their new home.
Advocacy, Consultations & Forums
AMRC actively advocates for the needs and rights of migrant and refugee communities, ensuring their voices are heard in policy discussions and service development. We facilitate regular consultations and forums, providing a platform for new arrivals to share their experiences, address challenges, and contribute to decision-making.
Our forums also celebrate the achievements and contributions of migrants and refugees, recognizing their impact on South Australia’s economy, culture, and society. These initiatives help strengthen partnerships between government agencies, industry leaders, and community groups, supporting a more inclusive and supportive environment for new arrivals.
Through our holistic approach to settlement, we empower individuals and families to build independent, connected, and successful lives in Australia.
