2026 Youth Poster Awards Exhibition Launch

SA Refugee Week

As we mark World Refugee Day, we are delighted to share highlights from yesterday’s launch of the 2026 SA Refugee Week Youth Poster Awards Exhibition.
For 16 years, the Australian Migrant Resource Centre (AMRC) has proudly delivered this initiative, providing young people with an opportunity to learn about the refugee experience and express their ideas through art. This year’s exhibition showcased the creativity, compassion and talent of students from across South Australia, inspired by the Refugee Week theme, A Million Stories.
The overwhelming message was one of kindness, inclusion and belonging. We acknowledge the incredible students, artists, teachers and schools who dedicated their time and energy to creating such thoughtful and meaningful works.
The exhibition is now open at the Light Square Gallery, Adelaide College of the Arts – TAFE SA, until 25th June before touring galleries and local council venues across South Australia.
We were honoured to welcome Ms Sarah Andrews MP, Assistant Minister for the Arts, representing the Deputy Premier, the Hon Kyam Maher MLC, and the Hon Nadia Clancy MP, Minister for Multicultural Affairs.
Thank you to TAFE SA Adelaide College of the Arts, the Light Square Gallery, Clare Dallimore and team for hosting and supporting this year’s exhibition. Special thanks to Professor Andrew Hill AM, Eugenia Tsoulis OAM for their ongoing volunteer commitment and guidance, and to our Arts Coordinator, Keith, whose tireless work helps bring this project to communities across South Australia.
We also thank Greg Donovan, Julian Tremayne, Courtney Peters, Doreen Donovan, our wonderful MC and AMRC Deputy Chair Elizabeth Ho OAM, our guest speakers, the SLAVA Dance Group, and every volunteer and supporter who helped make this exhibition possible.
Thank you for helping tell a million stories.
As one of the posters beautifully reminds us: “Together we write South Australia’s next chapter.”
