Global Talent, Local Impact Forum – 2026

Connect, Thrive and Contribute (CTC) Program

On Friday, 26 June 2026, AMRC hosted the Global Talent, Local Impact Forum, an evening connecting skilled migrants, employers, mentors and industry partners to celebrate the talent and contribution of internationally skilled professionals across South Australia.
We were honoured to welcome keynote speaker Ms Louisa Newstead, Director of Population and Migration at the Department of State Development, and grateful to have a special address from The Hon Justin Hanson MLC.
Our skilled migrant panel, Gayan Hewamanage, Teena Anthony and Mohammad Riaz Al Faruque Bhuiyan, shared their inspiring journeys and practical learnings, brilliantly facilitated by Sonya Paterson from the Department of State Development. We also heard valuable employer insights from Chev. Charles Figallo OAM of NovaFast Holdings, Sachin Pandey from the SA Department of Treasury and Finance, and Jano Tuchyna from SONNEX Pty Ltd.
A huge thank you to our incredible industry mentors who were present, as well as all the other mentors who have generously shared their time and expertise throughout the program. We also extend our sincere thanks to our partner organisations: Engineers Australia – South Australia Division, SA Unions, SA Migrant Workers, Master Builders SA and SkillSmart Careers for your continued support.
A special mention to Bortier Okoe for a truly uplifting musical performance on the night.
This forum was part of AMRC’s Connect, Thrive and Contribute (CTC) Program, proudly supported by the Department of State Development.
At AMRC, we believe that when we connect people, opportunities and partnerships, we build a stronger South Australia.
