The Census is coming up on 11 August 2026. This will be the 19th Census of Australia, conducted every five years by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).
The Census is an important national data collection that helps inform planning and decision-making for services such as schools, healthcare, transport, and infrastructure. It is compulsory for everyone in Australia on Census night, regardless of citizenship or visa status. While the ABS encourages voluntary participation, penalties may apply for refusing to complete the Census under the Census and Statistics Act 1905.
We have a Census Information Session coming up next Tuesday, 14 July (please see the attached flyer). Please share this with any clients who may benefit from learning about the upcoming Census and how to complete it correctly.
Participants will also have the opportunity to register their interest in a “Filling the Form” session for those who require additional support to complete the Census form.
