Settlement Workshops for New Afghan Arrivals
AUASA, MECCSA and AMRC have partnered with TAFE SA to deliver information workshops for new Afghan arrivals. The workshops provide new arrivals with information on the programs and services available to them and introduces them and links them to facilities and staff.
Three workshops were held this month in the Adelaide Multicultural Centre and Northern Area MRC where the new arrivals were introduced to community support workers and Chairperson of the Afghan United Association of SA, Mr Hussain Razaiat. The new arrivals enjoyed connecting with the community and were interested in finding out more information about employment support, training, English language classes and volunteering.
Clare Dallimore from TAFE SA said that “the students benefited from the opportunity to meet, get the information presented and enjoy the delicious food. Another example of how well the AMRC and AMEP work collaboratively”.
