Good Practice

30 November 2021
MECCSA’s 2021 Annual General Meeting
Congratulations Vahedeh Mansoury, Chairperson of the Middle Eastern Communities Council of South Australia (MECCSA) and all elected members and Hussain Razaiat, Settlement Director of MECCSA, supporters and volunteers for your outstanding work and contributions managing so many challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the Afghanistan crisis.

MECCSA was formed in 1999 as an umbrella body representing eight communities in South Australia – the Iraqi, Iranian, Afghan, Uzbek, Qatari, Kurdish, Turkman and Syrian communities.

It was a pleasure to be invited to the AGM by one of our closest partners and to listen to Assistant Minister Hon. Jing Lee MLC praise MECCSA’s commitment to good governance, to the new arrival Afghan speaker Mohammad Anwar Ikram and to receive a poetry book from renowned poet Adeeb Kamal Ad-Deen.
