Update from the Limestone Coast
It was a pleasure to chair the Connecting Settlement and Community Services (CSCS) Forums with participatory government, services, community representatives and industry representatives in Mount Gambier, Naracoorte and Bordertown. At the same time, we met with schools to begin the mural project and also met with the Limestone Coast Multicultural Network to update each other on challenges and achievements. Congratulations to the communities that have welcomed new migrants to feel a sense of belonging in these regional towns.
A big thank you to local government, the Hon Nick McBride MP’s office, Manager of the Mount Gambier MRC Anelia Blackie, Manager of the Naracoorte and Bordertown MRCs Frances Kirby and Manager of the Murraylands MRC Heather Muirhead. Congratulations to these managers for their valuable service over and above the line of duty. Thank you to Hafeezullah Haidari from the famous Pearl Continental restaurant for ensuring we were well fed throughout our Limestone Coast tour. Congratulations to the Circle of volunteers for being acknowledged by the Premier for their valuable assistance to the AMRC.
