Young Achievers
In February, Shikofa Anguri, 26, begun working in customer services at IKEA. She is very happy in this role and has said that it is the first step in achieving her goal: a degree in Business Administration.
Having fled Afghanistan with her family, Shikofa was sponsored by her family and arrived in Australia in 2018.
Shikofa has been inspired by her grandfather’s words: “An educated person can change the future, when they use pens as their weapons”.
After arriving in Australia, she successfully completed Year 12 and Cert III in Business Administration at Thebarton Senior College. In order to achieve her goal, she is working to save up for tertiary studies. She has worked at IGA & KSM in Prospect as a cashier. She has worked as a SANFL goal umpire for both boy and girl teams and works since 2019. She also helps in events management for weddings and birthdays. She is a member of the Adelaide University Rotaract Club and volunteers at AMRC under the Youth Leadership. She received a Friends of Zainab Scholarship Award in 2019.
The AMRC is privileged to support her in achieving her goals.
