Several information sessions were held at the Australian Migrant Resource Centre (AMRC) in February 2019 to introduce the Women’s Employment into Action (WEIA) project to candidates. Training for successful candidates commenced in March 2019, with participants coming from a diversity of backgrounds including Burmese, Bhutanese, Bengali, Russian and many more. The project was established to prepare migrant and refugee women for employment in the aged care and disability sector, and other allied human services. The project will continue until 2020, providing different cohorts of women with employment pathways.
