After months of work Gossip has now opened, with the Malaysian restaurant serving an array of authentic Asian-fusion food.

The proprietor and chef is Eida, who is a former Masterchef contestant in her home country, and who grew up cooking Malay and Thai cuisine.

A small gathering were invited to the opening night, with the restaurant having a warm and comfortable setting. The decor has rich earthy colours in the main dining room, whilst the buffet room had whimsical fairy lights. Florals were a key design element.

There were also play spaces for children and baby seats, emphasising that it was a family restaurant.

The food on offer was cucumber salad, chicken (served with either sambal or satay sauce), noodles, rice, and curry puffs. To drink, guests were treated to sirap bandung selasih, which is a refreshing drink made with rose syrup.

Gossip is located at 40 Robertson Street, and is open every day except Tuesdays. On Fridays, if you order three meals the third is 50% off. On Saturdays, drinks are free. (Gossip is a non-alcoholic restaurant with none for sale and no BYO).

Dine in or takeaway is available.

Appetisers include spring rolls, curry puffs and steamed dim sum. Mains include chicken rice, nasi lemak, nasi goreng pataya, fried rice, chicken or beef satay, sizzling noodle, curry laksa, and char keow teow.

To drink, as well as juices and cans of softdrink, there are also Asian drinks such as sirap lemon, longan drink, and teh tarik.
