A citizenship ceremony was held in the Naracoorte Council Chambers last Friday to welcome 10 new Australian citizens.

Naracoorte Lucindale mayor Erika Vickery welcomed the newcomers who came from China, New Zealand, Afghanistan and the United Kingdom.

“It was a lovely ceremony with the new recipients of their Australian citizenship,” Ms Vickery said.

“It was really well supported by lots of family and friends.

“There were a couple of parents with their children … some of the new citizens have actually been residents and been in Naracoorte for over 10 years.

“They’ve been really good members of the community for a good number of years. And they were so pleased to gain citizenship.”
